Clinical Research. Gold Vine Qingbi, Particle Treatment Of Rheumatoid Arthritis (intrinsic Toxic Hot, Wet Stasis Card)

OBJECTIVETo investigate the therapeutic effect and adverse reaction of Jinteng Qingbi Granule in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.METHODIt was a random, double blind research. 44 patients with active rheumatoid arthritis were divided into two groups at random; 22 in Jinteng Qingbi Granule group and the other 22 in Shirebi powder group. The Jinteng Qingbi Granule group was treated with Jinteng Qingbi Granule 10g, per os, 3 times a day for 8 weeks. The Shirebi powder group was treated with Shirebi powder 5g and mock 5g, per os, 3 times a day for 8 weeks. Indexes including blood-rt, urine-rt, stool-rt, electrocardiogram, hepatic function, renal function, blood sedimentation rate, rheumatoid factor and C-reactive protein were tested before and after 8-week treatment. Then the result of indexes were compared between 2 groups, the main clinical symptoms and physical signs were observed and recorded per 2 weeks during the period of therapy as well.RESULT1 The total effective rate of Jinteng Qingbi Granule group and Shirebi powder group was 95.2% and 71.4% respectively after 8 weeks treatment. There were statistically significant differences between 2 groups (P<0.05). The therapeutic effect of Jinteng Qingbi Granule group surpasses that of Shirebi powder group.2 It improved about the main clinical symptoms and physical signs including count of joint tenderness, count of joint swollen, rest pain, average grasp force of both hands of 2 groups. The result of each index before and after therapy was significantly different between 2 groups (P<0.05). It improved more in Jinteng Qingbi Granule group. However, it's no significant difference about time of morning stiffness between 2 groups (P>0.05).3 Result of indexes in laboratory tests were improved after 8 weeks. The change rates of blood sedimentation rate between 2 groups were significantly different (P<0.05). The change rates of rheumatoid factor and C-reactive protein between two groups were no significantly different (P>0.05).4 Both medicines had no obvious effect to the heart function, hepatic function, renal function, blood-rt, urine-rt and stool-rt of all patients. Only one adverse reaction was happened in each group. All adverse reaction could be recovered by discontinuation or keeping on treatment. The differences of incidence rate of adverse reaction between two groups were no statistically significant (P>0.05).CONCLUSIONJinteng Qingbi Granule can improve the clinical symptoms, physical signs and laboratory test indexes of patients with active rheumatoid arthritis. The therapeutic effect of Jinteng Qingbi Granule is better than that of Shirebi powder. The incidence rate of adverse reaction of Jinteng Qingbi Granule is equivalence to that of Shirebi powder. It is a kind of safe medicine. It can educe the preponderance of traditional Chinese medicine. It is worth generalizing to clinical use.
