Qiang-huo the Chinese crude drug is the rhizome or root of Notopterygium incisum Ting and Notopterygium forbesii Boiss, distributed in Qinghai, Sichuan, Yunnan and Gansu province. The coumarin and the volatile oil are the main chemical constituents of the Chinese crude drug Qiang-huo.The paper concerned the isolation and identification of chemical constituents of the Chinese crude drug Qiang-huo. By the silica gel column chromatograph 10 compounds were extracted and 8 compounds were identified those were isoimperatorin, bergapten, imperatorin, notopterol, P-hydroxyphenethyl anisate, ferulic acid , -sitosterol, stigmasterol. The contents of ferulic acid, isoimperatorin and notopterol were mensurated by high-performance liquid chromatography. Setting up Qianghuo fingerprinting and applying the clustering analysis method to identify Qiang-huo species and evaluate the quality of Qiang-huo . Moreover , in the course of studying pharmacokinetics of Qiang-huo calculating the parameter of pharmacokinetics , for providing some eludes for Chinese medicine clinic.
