| Objective: Discuss the function mechanism and effect on muscular tone strengthened of lower limbs after stroke by acupuncture .Methods: 40 patients were randomly divided into two groups: the treating group treated by acupuncture , and the control group treated by motor programme method. The two groups were assessed by the Ashworth spasm assessment (ASS) ,the clinical neural function-defect assessment set (CNS),concise Fugl-Meyer assessment(FMA) and modified Barthel index(MBI).Meanwhile, analyzed how several factors such as ages ,types of diseases & states of diseases influence curative effect of acupuncture treatment.Results: Acupuncture is effective for the patients with muscular tension strengthened of lower limbs after stroke .There were no significant difference on statistics ,treating group compared with control group(P>0.05).The rate of ASS were decreased ,and the rate of CNS,FMA &MBI were decreased for both the treating group and the control group. But there were no significant difference on statistics, treating group compared with control group(P>0.05).Ages & types of diseases was not relevant to the curative effect of acupuncture. The states of diseases were related with the curative effect on statistics (P<0.01).Conclusion: Acupuncture is one of the effective ways to cure muscular tension strengthened of lower limbs after stroke. The function mechanism may be through local stimulation to excite the opposing muscle, which then contribute to the balancethe muscular tension of lower limbs. |
