Cough and asthma are common symptoms in the respiratory system diseases, and also appear as disorder name. Although these are often seen in the respiratory system diseases, it also would happen to some degree if other systems diseases involve in the respiratory system."Cough" is often seen in diseases referred in modern medicine, such as infection of the upper respiratory, bronchitis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary tuberculosis, lung suppuration and ulcer, pleurisy, pharyngitis, laryngitis, whooping cough, and so on. Clinically, some diseases caused by external factors and internal injury are involved in the respiratory system, " coughing " and " asthma " can appear at the same time .When diseases caused by external factors and internal injury are treated by Zhongjing Prescription, the effect is said to be distinguished from ancient document record to the modern clinical case report, in particular, it is unique for cough and asthma. However, most of these are experience summary, not be studied from the law about symptom and treatment of therapy for cough and asthma by Treatise on Febrile Diseases, not be approved in term of basic theory of TCM, which may be limited to guide clinic to some extent.Based on primary theory of TCM, this text will explicit the law about symptom and treatment of therapy for cough and asthma by Treatise on Febrile Diseases systematically, which could widen threshold of treating cough and asthma clinically, strengthen the understanding of academic thoughts of Zhongjing deeply, expand the square of clinical use about classical prescription and treatment method for modern difficult and complex diseases, and enrich the treasure-houses of Life sciences, in addition.
