Objective: Carrying on retrospective study on patients with lumbar disc herniation followed up recent days ,we evaluate effect of different curative methods and provide the reference for the clinic. Methods: Sieves patients with lumbar disc herniation inside orthopedics of Liaoning province hospital of traditional Chinese medicine in the last two years to be the research object, divided into the non-operation treatment and vertebral plate fenestration according to the treatment method.Result : The result non-operation treatment total 40, excellent 15, have 38%; good 19, have 47%; fair 1, have 3%; poor 5, have 12%;The excellent-good rate were 85%. The result vertebral lamina fenestration in addition to 36, excellent 16, have 44%; goodl4, have 39%; fair 4, have 11%; poor 2, have 6%; The excellent-good rate were 83%.Conclusion: 1) The good therapeutic effect of either non-operative therapy or operation for patients with lumbar disc herniation was similar after a short-term follow up if the indication was chosen properly. 2) We suggest that non-operative therapy should be the first choice for the lumbar disc herniation.
