Selaginella labordei Hieron, is a medicinal plant from Selaginella genus, Selaginnellaceae. There are 700 species in Selaginella genus all over the world, and 60-70 species in our country. Among them more than 20 species can be used to treat diseases. Selaginella plants distribute in the whole country everywhere and the resources are very abundant. Most of them can clear away heat and detoxicate toxity, promote blood flow and stop bleeding, relax the tendous, and some of them have been used to cure various diseases. Modern pharmacologic researches found that the biflavonoids coming from Selaginella have obvious effection on anti-tumor and antivirus and they are potential anti-cancer and antivirus medicine. In addition, it also can decline the blood sugar, stop bleeding, accomodate the immune ability, relieve pains, tranquilize disturbed mind.The most meaningful thing is the discovery of biflavonoid compounds in chemical researches of Selaginella plants, almost all the plants of Selaginella that have been studied contain biflavonoids. They are not only important in the chemical classification of the medicinal plant species, but also show potential physiologic activity of anti- oxidation and clearing free radicals, etc. Diabetes have become the third serious disease damaging human health after cardiovascular diseae and tumor, and are a kind of gerontism, disease, the Selaginella plants do well to the diabetes to decline the blood-sugar. So, there is an extensive market foreground in the space of developing a new medicine to cure diabetes from the medicinal plants of declining blood-sugar strongerly.Currently, there are still many medicinal plants of Selaginella which have not been studied in deepth, we should keep with the opportunity to study them, and lay stress on the protecting, developing, making use and studying on the resources of the medical plants.S. labordei is one of the rare medicinal plants used in our country, its preaclincal study has found out to have good antioxidant and anti-viral activities. In this paper we worked on its constituent isolation, structure determination and quality control on the basis of the antecedent research.This paper summarizes the research survey of Selaginella plants from distribution, application, classification, identification, consititution, contention and pharmacological action.There are many plants of Selaginella genus (for example S. tarnariscina, S. pulvinata, S. sinenis, S. stauntoniana, S. uncinata, etc.), which appearance identification and compounds have been reported, but there are still not any related reports about S. labordei up to now. This thesis carries on the research on chemical compounds in S. labordei. On the basis of chemical composition research of Selaginella plants, we study the HPLC fingerprint diagram of S. labordei, S. mollendorfi, and S. delicatula, it provides a method to identify S. labordei. We get four compounds from S. labordei and identificate 3 of them. We adopt HPLC determining the amentoflavone content of 5. labordei and provid basis for the quality control of S. labordei.Comparing S. labordei with S. moellendorffii (small plant) and S. delicatula (small plant) in appearance, we discover that they are similar in appearance and it is difficult for discriminating them, so we adopted HPLC method to research the fingerprint diagram of S. labordei etc., that the method have good reappearance and stability, identificate S. labordei accurately.With solvent and chromatographic methods to extract and isolate the effective composition, we get ethyl acetate and petroleum ether, then according chromatogram isolution, we get four compounds from it and identificate 3 of them as β -sitosterol, 5, 5" ,7" , 4''' -quahydroxyl-7-methoxyl-[4' -O-6" ]-bifiavone and benzoic acid-15-quahydroxy-1-diterpene ester by the physical, chemical and UV,IR, 1H-NMR,13C-NMR,MS spectrum.On the basis of chemical composition research of S. labordei, the content of Amentoflavone in S. labordei is determined and the standard of the content determination of amentoflavone of...
