The study in modern medicine show that free radical reaction in body has close relation to the process of occurring, developing in some disease and aging. The body will release a lot of free radicals while it is stimulated by external physical, chemical factors and internal substance metabolisms. When the body is out of balance, superfluous radicals will attack biological molecules which are composed of cells and tissues, therefore, leading to urgent or slow injury of the structure and whole biological function. The body will appear sick and senescent symptom once the injury can't be repaired or the body lose its compensated function. As a result, the studies about antioxidant scavenging radical have been widely concerned. Moreover, it is necessary to find natural, nontoxic as well as effective antioxidants.Recently, two methods of directly scavenging radical ability as well as restaining enzyme are adopted to study the antioxidative activity of Traditional Chinese Herbs. The free radical and its oxidative produce are usually detected by ECR (electron spin resonance), chemical luminescence and colorimetry ect. These methods can evaluate radical scavenging ability of Traditional Chinese Herbs. Since the process of scavenging free radicals goes with the reaction of electrochemistry, this experiment utilizes the technology of electrochemistry in evaluating the antioxidative activity of some Traditional Chinese Herbs in order to explore the relations between electrochemistry characters and its antioxidative activities. We establish the cyclic voltammogram (CV) method that is able to detect oxidative potential by using electrochemical anlyasis system and detect the oxidative potentials of half peak(Ep/2) for twenty two kinds of Traditional Chinese Herbs.By using Electrochemical Detection-High Performance Liquid Chromatography (ECD-HPLC) to detect the total content of effective properties in the twenty-two Traditional Chinese Herbs. To evaluate antioxidative activities of nine kinds of Traditional Chinese Herbs among the twenty-two is based on the over-oxidant model of Fe3+/ADP-NADPH inducing microsome of rat liver. In conclusion, for eight kinds of Traditional Chinese Herbs:Flos sophorae, Galla chinensis, Radix et rhizoma rhei, Radix polygoni multifloris Hypericum...
