| Objective: This trial is to observe whether moxibusting shenque acupoint (RN 8) can heighten the serum melatonin(MT) content when it is relieving the clinical symptoms. It offer some primary gist for the hypothesis that delaying aging function of moxibustion has direct relationship with its function of heightening the serum MT content, which provide some basements for the first stage of the research while probing further into the mechanism of delaying aging function of moxibustion.Methods: Sixty-three old people had been selected.They were divided into two groups on the basis of randomized controlled trial. Moxibustion group was treated with suspendly moxibusting over shenque acupoint;while control group received no treatment .The clinic symptoms of aging and content of melatonin of pre-treatment and post-treatment were observed.Results: Suspendly moxibusting over shenque acupoint with moxastick can better the clinic symptoms definitely and heighten the serum MT content simultaneously. There were significant difference between the two groups.Conclusion: The function of delaying aging in every direction of healthcare moxibustion probably is related directly with the function of heightening the serum MT content. |
