To compare the nasal bioavailability of Levonorgestrel and change formulation components to provide long-term effective concentrations of the drug in blood. The aim of this study was to characterize the plasma pharmacokinetics of levonorgestrel following a single administration , in healthy, female rats under the same conditions as during clinical use.An experimental study was conducted to identical dose and different frequency of drug administration to increase expected emergency contraception effects reported in humans.levonorgestrel were administered in rats via the nasal is Excellence in new drug delivery systems. In vivo study in rats on two routes., a 350ug drug suspension or liposomes was administered. The blood samples was collected repeatedly and concentration of LNG was measured in these samples, the plasma drug concentration pharmacokinetics of levonorgestrel following a single dose administration .chitosan and SG(steryl glucoside) on nasal absorption of the drug was also evaluated, levonorgestrel is rapidly absorbed. The absorption, distribution, and elimination profiles of levonorgestrel following the three similarly different treatments were different result. It also indicates that administration there Relative bioavailabilities of 106%, 110.032%, and 118% were observed after nasal administration of cholesterol drug, physical mixture chirotan, and liposomal formulations of SG, respectively. Mucoadhesive agents in nasal formulations were found to produce increasein drug bioavailability, respectively, for chitosan and SG formulations, respectively, when compared with the presently available orally administered form. Levonorgestrel with mucoadhesive agents administered nasally in rats is superior for maintaining effective drug concentrations over an extended period of time .available orally administered form, this study reinforces clinical guidelines recommending.
