And to observe the role of Shou Kang Ning Capsule(SKNC) on the proliferation of rat Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells(VSMC) for analyzing the mechanism of action of SKNC for HLP.MethodsMiddle layer smooth muscle of aorta in rats was separated, smooth muscle cell was cultured by stick wall method. After cultured by no serum medium, proliferation of VSMC was stimulated by 20% FBS, and the different concentration of total SKNC was added. The influence was observed by MTT method. Influence of herbs on cell cycle was detected by flow cytometry.ResultsThrough anti-α-actin immunohistochemistry staining,all of the cells' staining are masculine, the purity coefficient is 95%.Compared with the normal group, the proliferation activity of VSMC was decreased in SKNC group. Analysis of cell cycle in dicated the SKNC mainly lead to the blockage of VSMC in G₂ /M stage, could also decrease S phase cells of VSMC by concentratiorn dependent fashionConclusionSpleen and Kidney-essence weak, phlegm stasis is the basic aetiological factor for HLP ,and replenishing kidney-essence, removing phlegm therapy is operative on treating HLP .
