Breast Cancer Quality Of Life Scale, Eortc Qlq-c30 And Qlq-br23 Questionnaire Chinese Version Of The Reliability, Validity, Responsiveness,

Objective: EORTC QLQ-C30 and QLQ-BR23 are a set of quality of life questionnaires to exam patients with breast cancer in EORTC clinical trial. They are widely used overseas. The purse of our study is to introduce these instruments to exam the quality of life for Chinese patients with breast cancer, study the acceptability and evaluate the reliability, validity and responsiveness to change.Method: employ the QLQ-C30 and QLQ-BR23 to measure the quality of life of patients with breast cancer. First, determine our subjects. Subjects are patients with breast cancer from Shanxi Tumor Hospital and The First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University. Ensure to make strict eligibility criteria to represent the target population. Second, select our assessment time points, make a schedule for collecting quality of life data. Then, investigator hand the QLQ-C30 and QLQ-BR23 into patient in person, give a verbal explanation, and encourage patients to complete the questionnaires without missing data. Participate patients complete the questionnaires when they once be in hospital, so-called baseline assessment. Repeat again after an interval of 24 hours, so-called retest assessment. And then assess twice during chemotherapy. At last input the data and use the SPSS 13.0 to analyze.Result: The QLQ-C30 and QLQ-BR23 have satisfying test-retest reliability except 3 scales: EF, FA and FI, 0.011, 0.517 and 0.357. They have good internal consistency except 4 scales'Cronbachα:EF, CF, BRSEF and BRRS, 0.288, 0.447, 0.319 and 0.425. Factor analyses with varimax rotated solution is used to examine the construction validity. Although they are not completely identical, outcome have close correlations with origin questionnaire. The T-test is employed to evaluate responsiveness of the two questionnaires. There are 4 scales :BRSEE, BRFU, BRBS and BRHL haven't statistical significant difference.Conclusion: Based on the analyses, the Chinese version EORTC QLQ-C30 and QLQ-BR23 are easily understood and quick to complete. And they are reliable and validity. The responsiveness of the QLQ-BR23 needs further research.
