Objective Currently, lung cancer is the world and one of the most common malignancy, its incidence rate, the terms of morbidity or mortality of view, are the world's first lung cancer.According to some previous chemotherapy mainly by doctors to determine the number of indicators, and now come to realize, should also be evaluated in patients with chemother-apy side effects, quality of life is a comprehensive evaluation index, has been used more and more clinical, the paper compares the non-small cell lung cancer patients before and after chemotherapy, quality of life of the affected their quality of life of the relevant factors. Methods In this prospective study, collecting the Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University Hospital from the North from June 2007 to December 2009 during the 28 patients with pathologically confirmed non-small cell lung cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Adoption of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer EORTC QLQ-C30 and EORTC QLQ-LC13 questionnaire survey in the hospital. Before and after chemotherapy for all patients to assess the quality of life, as well as by age, sex, education, pathology, treatment modalities to group assessment, the factors affecting the quality of life by statistical analysis of T-test processing.Results:1.According to age groups:<60 years old after chemotherapy PF, RF, CF, EF, QOL were improved (p values were 0.004,0.001,0.011,0.000, 0.004);> 60 years old after chemotherapy only PF, CF, EF improvement(p values were 0.032,0.015,0.04), and after chemotherapy RF (role function) and no improvement in QOL (p=0.129,0.09, respectively), but between the two groups differ only EF (p=0.038), after chemotherapy> 60 years old emotions better than that in <60 years old.2.Grouped according to sex:male chemotherapy PF, RF, CF, EF were improved (p values were 0.001,0.005,0.002,0.003), female patients in the RF, CF, EF, QOL has improved (p=0.01,0.04,0.00,0.04),. Male patients with FI(financial difficulties) index score was significantly lower than female patients (p<0.05), for male breadwinners, even after illness worries about their economic situation.3.Comparing the groups according to educational level:low educ-ational level group function scale investigation after chemotherapy PF, RF, CF, EF, QOL were improved (p values were 0.014,0.002,0.003,0.00,0.001), and high education level group only in the PF, RF, EF improvement (p values were 0.003,0.041,0.007), after the illness because of the high education group received information from various, more worried about their condition, their function scores than the low education group, the quality of life improved after chemotherapy, and lower education group differences.4.Comparison of treatment modalities:chemotherapy after first-line palliative chemotherapy in the PF, RF, CF, EF, QOL were improved (p values were 0.002,0.000,0.003,0.000 postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy for patients as chemotherapy toxicity response to the declining quality of life (p=0.027).5.Pathological types of groups:non-squamous cell carcinoma patients after chemotherapy, after chemotherapy, PF, RF, CF, EF, QOL scores were improved clinical benefit (p values were:0.012,0.000,0.013,0.00, while squamous cell carcinoma only in CF, EF two functions have increased (p values of 0.005,0.01).Conclusion:1.Quality of life after chemotherapy was better than before chemotherapy, that chemotherapy can improve the non-small cell lung cancer patients quality of life. 2.Overall rating:> 60 years old and less educated population is more worried about the economy.3.Male and female patients after chemotherapy have improved the quality of life, male and female patients with no difference between the two groups.4.Obvious benefit of non-squamous cell carcinoma chemotherapy.5.Palliative chemotherapy for first-line adjuvant chemo-therapy group the symptoms were significantly, but symptoms improved after chemotherapy are more apparent. Adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with chemotherapy side effects because of its lower quality of life.
