Literatures have always emphasized that the gallbladder-heat, the lung-heat and the damp-heat in the spleen and the stomach are the main pathogenic factors for the nasal sinusitis with excess syndrome since the pathogenic factor and pathogeneses caused nasal sinusitis had been reported in , as its pathogenesis contain the basic characteristics of epidemic febrile diseases. Through a systematic analysis, the author clarifies the viewpoint that we can use the theory of the science of epidemic febrile disease to treat nasal sinusitis; the purpose is to propose a guidance and reference for clinical work.The position of the nasal sinusitis is at the nasal mucosa, but the pathogenic heat is related to viscera. For that nasal sinusitis with damp-heat, according to the science of epidemic febrile disease, we can use the method of identification to analysis the patient's conditions of nutrient and blood or the triple heater to confirm the location of pathological change; ultimately, we can work out the treatment method accordingly. Treatment methods include relieving exterior syndrome; clearing Qi; mediation; purgation, clearing up the Ying system and cooling the blood; Ying nourishing, etc. At the same time, we also have to work out different treatment according to the differentiation of symptoms, such as lung-heat; gallbladder heat, and the damp-heat in spleen and stomach.Although we can treat nasal sinusitis by using the theory of the science of epidemic febrile diseases, it is quite different from the general epidemic febrile diseases. As the nasal sinusitis has its special feature, the use of external treatment is important. The evil heats to the nasal sinusitis come from different viscera, but the location of pathological change is at the nose. Therefore, we have to differentiate the main symptom and its accompanying symptoms; the principle aspect and its index, so as to work out a combinative treatment. This paper also presents the regular pattern of administering drugs in treatment of nasal sinusitis citing the actual clinical cases.
