They are used for swelling and pain in tendons, bones, joints trauma, internal Qi - blood damage and stasis of meridians caused by collision and sprain in the clinical therapy.YuShangXiaoTong decoction is composed of many kinds of ingredients. In order to develop this medicine to a new drug form as soon as possible. We complished a series of studies according to the related standard of new drug research of SDA. In the study of preparation technology, the water .extraction process of Radix Paeoniae Alba and other Materia Medica is researched. Three factors were selected in this experiment, including the water volume, the time of decocting and the times of decocting. Each factor selected tliree different levels. And the content of paeoniflorin being as an index, an orthogonal experiment of L₉ (3⁴) was conducted to find the optimal water extraction condition. The result showed that the optimum extracting condition was that adding 5 times water as much as the medicinal materials to decoct 3 times, each time boiling for 1h. In the same time, the water extraction process of Flos Carthami is researched. Four factors were selected in this experiment, including the water volume, the time of decocting, the times of decocting and the temperature of decocting. Each factor selected three different levels. And the extracting rate of safflor yellow being as an index, an orthogonal experiment of L₉ (3⁴) was conducted to find the optimal water extraction condition. The result showed that the optimum extracting condition was that adding 10 times water as much as the medicinal materials in 60⁷0℃ to decoct 3 times, each time boiling for lh. In addition, the volatile oil-water extraction process of Radix Angelicae sinensis and other Materia Medica is researched. It is determined that adding 6 times water as much as the medicinal materials with direct steam distillation for 5 hours, then decocting 2 times with 6 times water, once an hour.
