Part 1 The relationship between coronary heart disease and sleep apnea syndromeObjective Sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) is associated with coronary artery disease (CAD). There was less epidemical data about it in China. The objective of this study is to investigate the prevalence of CAD with SAS. Methods In 216 consecutive inpatients coronary angiography and polysomnography were performed from November 2004 to March 2005.Serum levels of triglyceridemia, highdensity lipoprotein, lowdensity lipoprotein, uricemia and c-reactive protein were investigated. Results 164 patients were diagnosed as CAD and 52 patients were excluded CAD. The prevalence of SAS in patients with CAD was higher than those with no CAD, respectively 55.6%(91/164) VS 45.1%(23/52).In multiple logistic regression model, the risk of CAD in patients with AHIā‰„20 is 5.1 times than that in patients with AHI< 20 after emendating the risk factors such as age, hypertension and smoking (OR 5.1,95%CI 1.1-24.8) .Conclusions There is high prevalence of SAS in patients with CAD, SAS is the possible risk of CAD. Sleep-breath monitor should be performed in patients with CAD.Part 2 Clinical Features of Patients with Coronary Heart Disease and Sleep Apnea SyndromeObjective To determine the incidence of sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), and to assess the clinical features of...
