Terrestris Fruit Furostanol Saponins Study

We have known that the steroidal saponins in the fruits of Tribulus terrestris include spirostanol saponins and furostanol saponins. In this paper we report the isolation and structural elucidation of seven furostanol saponins. On the basis of spectroscopic analyses, including two-dimensional NMR techniques, and chemical reactions, The structures of the furostanol saponins were elucidated as3-O-{β-D-xylopyranosyl(1â†'3)-[β-D-xylopyranosyl(1â†'2)]-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1—4)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1â†'2)]-β-D-galactopyranosy}-26-O-β-D-glucopyranos yl-5a -furost-20(22)-en- (25R)-33 ,26-diol, is a new compound;3-O- {β-D-xylopyranosyl(1â†'3)-[β-D-xylopyranosyl(1â†'2)]-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1—4)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1â†'2)]-β-D-galactopyranosy}-26-O-β-D-glucopyranos yl-5a -furostan-12-one-(25R)-22-methoxy-3p ,26-diol, is a new compound;3-O-{β-D-xylopyranosyl(1â†'3)-[β-D-xylopyranosyl(1â†'2)]-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1â†'4)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1â†'2)]-β-D-galactopyranosy} -26-O-β-D-glucopyranos yl-5a -furostan-12-one-(25R)-33 ,22,26-triol, is a new compound;3-O-{β-D-xylopyranosyl(1â†'3)-[β-D-xylopyranosyl(1â†'2)]-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1â†'4)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1—2)]-β-D-galactopyranosy}-26-O-β-D-glucopyranos yl-5α-furostane-(25R)-3β,22,26-triol, is a new compound;3-O- {β-D-xylopyranosyl(1â†'3)-[β-D-xylopyranosyl(1â†'2)]-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1â†'4)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1â†'2)]-β-D-galactopyranosy} -26-O-β-D-glucopyranos yl-5α-furostane-(25R)-22-methoxy-3β,26-diol;3-O- {[β-D-xylopyranosyl(1â†'3)][β-D-galactopyranosy 1(1â†'2)]-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1â†'4)-β-D-glucopyranosyl }-25-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-5a -furostan-12-one-(25R)-3β,22,26-triol;3-O- {β-D-glucopyranosyl(1â†'4)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1â†'2)]-β-D-galactopyra nosy}-26-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-5α-furostane-(25R)-3β,2,26-triol, is a new compound.And Gitogenin(25R);Tigogenin(25R) And 5, 6, 3', 4'-tetrahydroxy-3-O-[glucopyranosyl(1â†'3)-O-glucopyranosyl (1â†'6)]-flavonol.The activities of these compounds are being tested.
