Abstract/Summary:
For paediatrists, chronic cough is a very common complaint in clinic. And chronic cough after exogenous attack is most common. Based on the research of ancient and today's , TCM and west medicine's literatures about chronic cough , I write this paper and want to discuss the etiology pathogenesis differentiation of the common syndrome and therapeutic methods of this disease through TCM theory. In my paper , I also make a summary of current recognition of chronic cough especially chronic cough after infection. Including the new progress in epidemiology, etiology pathomechanism diagnosis and therapy research of this disease . On the bases of all these research, We think the main pathogenic mechanism of chronic cough in children is deficiency in lung and spleen plus impairment of Qi and Yin .So the main therapeutic principle is tonifying Qi and consolidating superficies, strengthening spleen and moistening lung accordingly. My supervisor, Professor Yu , has profuse clinical experience in treating chronic cough in children. On the light of the principle of tonifying Qi and consolidating superficies , strengthening spleen and moistening lung and the summary of my supervisor's experience, we modify a formula. Through clinical verification , This formula and the principal both have proved to be effective in treating chronic cough after exogenous attack in children.
