1 Clinical data :To collect the subjective symptoms, and the physical signs of the tongue inspection and pulse tracings among 75 case studies and patients who show symoptoms of insomnia, meanwhile, the data of Pittsburg Sleep Measuring Scale, the Zung's Self-rating Depressive Scale and the Zung's Self-rating Anxious Scale have been collected among these same patients. According to the diagnostic criteria of pattern of syndrome of the Traditional Chinese Medicine, the distribution of the pattern of syndrome of the Traditional Chinese Medicine is analyzed, and the relation between the pattern of syndrome and the scale index number is discussed.2 Results2.1 Pattern of Syndrome:2.1.1 Proportion: Pathogenic fire derived from stagnation of liver-Qi account for 5.33% of the total. The damp abundance due to splenic asthenia is 5.33 % . The deficiency of both vital energy, Yin, phlegm-fire disturbing the viscera, syndrome of deficiency of Qi of both heart and courage, deficiency of both heart and spleen and syndrome of hyperactivity of fire due to deficiency of Yin are respectively account for 28.00% ,14.67 % ,34.67 % , 9.33 % and 2.67 % .2.1.2 Some tendency of the symptom of the insomnia and the pattern of syndrome of the differentiation of symptoms and signs are as follow:The chief complaint about the subjective symptoms is not consistent with the result of the difficulty of awareness in the daytime from the Pittsburg Sleep Scale, besides the symptom of hard to fall asleep and the disturbance of to deep sleep. It is hard that to explain the symptom, tongue demonstration and pulse tracings in some of the patients due to the use of only one pattern of syndrome. One patient has many kinds pattern of syndromes at the same time. The pattern of syndrome of asthenia and sthenia inclusion, combining phlegmatic hygrosis blood stasis are the majority.2.2 The relationship between Chinese medicine syndrome-types and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index.(1)All the patients whose general index above eight in Pittsburg Sleep Quality Table, the sleep quality of phlegm-heat group is worse than Qi and Yin deficiency group,heart- gallbladder Qi deficiency group,heart-spleen deficiency group and abundance of damp due to spleen-deficiency group, and the sleep quality of stagnancy of Qi of the liver with manifestations of fire group is worse than heart- gallbladder Qi deficiency group.(2)The relationship between the Chinese medicine types, which have over eight scores in Pittsburg Sleep Quality Table, and the single index of the table : the patients of phlegm-heat group have less sleep time and more sleep medicine, and they have poor sleep efficiency.(3)The score of the Pittsburg sleep quality scale is low in 8 cases studies where the patients ar e subjective insomnia. The analytical result of the pattern of syndrome in the rest cases have be effected severely, so do not count statisticaly.2.3 The insomnia patients scores of every Chinese medicine types do not have obvious differences, which in the Zung,s Self-rating Depression Scale. But a few case studies show significant differences.2.4 The patient scores of phlegm-heat group in Zung,s Self-rating Anxiety Scale is higher than Qi and Yin deficiency group and heart-spleen deficiency group. The scores of some Chinese medicine types have significant differences.2.5 The group of insomnia and depression which take the hypno-medicine is better than the group of insomnia and anxiety and the group of insomnia and anxiety-depression. The three groups have no difference in the rest of the grades of the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Table.3 Conclusion(1)The performance of insomnia patients in the Sthenic Syndrome group is serious than the deficiency symptom group, which accords with the theory of Chinese medicine.(2)It requires further study with the relationship of the Chinese medicine types of syndromes of insomnia patients and the Zung,s Self-rating Depression Scale and Zung,s Self-rating Anxiety Scale.
