Objective : To observe the theraputic effect of idiopathic fibrosis of the lungtreated by supplementing qi and nourishing yin and picking lung collaterals. Methods: 30 Cases were randomly divided in to two groups, each includes 15cases. Treated group were given Baofeitang and Dahuangzhezhongwan while controlgroup were treated with predinsone. The course of treatment was 12 weeks. Comparethe symptoms, arterial blood gas analysis, lung function, index of blood rheology andthe change of quality of life in prior treatment and post-treatment between two groups. Results: Watter's comprehend curative effect marks show that, in treated groupthe remarkable effective rate was 40%, effective rate was 100%; in control group theremarkable effective rate was 13.3%, effective rate was 100%. The therapeutic effectin treated group was obviously better than that in control group and the difference wassignificant(P=0.019). Dyspnea, dry cough, rale in lung, and lung function inpost-treatment were compared between two groups, the therapeutic effect in treatedgroup was better than control group. The value of indexs in treated group inpost-treatment decreased compared with that in prior treatment(P<0.05).In controlgroup, only in index of dry cough, respiratory rate,X rays in chest, and lung functionhave significant difference(P<0.05), The study results showed that symptoms or indexof dyspnea, chest pain, rale in lung, saturation of blood oxygen in artery and diffusionfunction of lung in treated group were better than that in control group, and Chinesemedical symptoms such as gasp and stethocatharsis, Dry mouth and thirsty, spontaneous perspiration, night swea,t fatigued and weak were relieved comparedwith control group, both had statistical significance(P<0.05).No difference wasshowed in other Chinese medical symptoms(P>0.05).Marks of most symptoms were relieved except of gastric cavity and abdomenfull in treated group compared with that in prior treatment(P<0.05). In control groupsymptoms such as chest distress, cough, stethocatharsis were relieved(P<0.05)significantly and had no obvious change in other fields. index of blood rheologyshowed that blood viscosity and the maximum deformed index of blood cell inpost-treatment were better than that in prior treatment(P<0.05), but had no statisticalsignificance between two groups. Both groups could improve the FVC(forced vitalcapacity), forced expiratory volume in one second , (FEV1.0/FVC) (FEV1.0/FVC)and diffusion capacity for carbon monoxide of the lung (DLCO),but there was nostatistical significance between two groups(P>0.05). (P>0.05)。Partial pressure ofoxygen(PO2) could be improved and partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PCO2) couldbe cut down compared with that in prior treatment in treated group, but had nostatistical significance when compared with control group(P>0.05). About lung function the results showed that pulmonaryventilation function in post-treatment wasbetter than thant in prior treatment in treated group, but had no statistical significancewhen compared with control group(P>0.05). In control group there was no statisticalsignificance between prior treatment and post-treatment (P>0.05).In quality of life, the number of people that acquired entirety improvement in quality of life inpost-treatment had no statistical significance between two groups (P>0.05).in treatedgroup and control group, the remarkable effective rate individually was 73.3% and60% while effective rate individually was 100% and 93.3% ,proved what was higherin treated group compared with control group. In partial of quality of life inpost-treatment, both groups could relieve the symptoms obviously(P<0.05), thisprovedthatbothgroupscouldrelievetheclinicsymptoms. In term of limitation of activity, symptoms relieved in post-treatment comparedwith prior treatment in treated group(P<0.05).While in control group there was nostatistical significance In mental state, marks increased in post-treatement in bothgroups compared with in prior treatment, but there was no statistical significance. Allparts were compared between groups and there was no statisticalsignificance(P>0.05).Conclusion: the therapeutic effect of idiopathic fibrosis of the lung treated bymethod of supplementingqi and nourishing yin, pickinglung collaterals is better thantreatedbyprednisone.
