Herba Lysimachiae (Christina Loosestrife herb) is the dried herb of Lysimachia christinae Hance. The taste is sweat and salty. The nature is little cold. Liver, kidney and gallbladder are the meridians (The translation is on the basis of TMC theory.). Herba Lysimachiae can clear away heat to drain dampness, relieve stranguria, subside swelling so that this is used for stranguria due to heat, stony stranguria, pain in urination, brownish urine, jaundice, carbuncle and swelling, rooted furuncle , poisonous snake bite ,calculi of both liver and gallbladder ,calculus of urethra.The polysaccharides were extracted from Lysimachia christinae Hance with hot water, precipitated by ethanol, The protein was got rid of by means of Sevag method, pigment and low molecule substance were got rid of by means of H₂O₂ and Dialysis respectively, crude polysaccharide were isolated and purified by Sephacryl S-300HR column .The homogeneity and molecular weight of Fb were evaluated and determined by high performance gel permeation chromatography (HPGPC). Infrared (IR) spectra were recorded for detecting functional groups. Paper chromatography (PC),gas chromatography (GC) and High Performance Anion Exchange Chromatograph (HPAEC ) were used for identification the monosaccharide.Six kind of polysaccharides, Fa, Fb, Fc, Fd, Fe, Ff contained in Lysimachia christane Hance were obtained , Fb was eluted as a single symmetrical peak by the HPGPC method, Fb was proved to be a homo-polysaccharide .The weight average molecular weight of Fb was 26372.,the Number average molecular weight of Fb was13841, the Z Average Molecule Weight of Fb was 68341 , the Viscosity average molecular weight of Fb was 22649 . The IR spectra manifested that the extraction was a compound of polysaccharide, it was an acidic polysaccharide .Gal,Xyl,Man,Rha,and GalU A were identified as the basic sugars of Fb.
