Objective:To appraise the clinical therapeutic effect of Integrated Traditional andWestern Medicine on the 50 patients sufferring idiopathic sudden hearing loss(ISHL) by a clinical research in part. And research the factors which havehad effect on the clinical therapeutic effect of the 50 ISHL patients. Methods:According to their own desire, 50 ISHL patients had been divided into twoparts, one was treated in the ward by a round-up therapy of IntegratedTraditional and Western Medicine, the other in the outpatient-department bya basic therapy. There were 30 patients in the Round-up Part(abbreviation, the same as follows) and 20 patients in the Basic Part(abbreviation, the sameas follows). Research the general difference of the two clinical curativeeffect, and the separate difference under the circumstances of age, time, degree, concomitant symptom, concomitant disease, syndrome, hearing curveshape and etal. By contrast on the general therapeutic effect of two groupsand making an inquiry into the cause of that, the practical and scientificcharacter, clinical value of the Round-up therapy can be learned. Besides, what factors have influenced the 50 ISHL patients' prognosis can be deducedand induced by comparing the therapeutic effect of two groups in all kindsof standards. Results:The recovery rate and the total effective rate were 30% and 93.33% in theRound-up Part, and were 10%, 65% in the Basic Part. By an X~2 analysis, thedifference of the total effective rate of the two parts was distinctstatistical signification (p<0.05). However, the difference of the recoveryrate wasn't distinct statistical signification(p>0.05). By a Ridit analysis, the patients who sufferred medium-degreed hearing loss in two parts, differredstatistically in curative effect, P<0.05. And the same to the patients whosufferred ISHL 8~15 days before, who were 50~69 years old. In two parts, the patients who were accompanied by symptoms such as tinnitus, dizzinessdifferred statistically in deafness curative effect, P<0.05. By contrast, thedifference of tinnitus curative effect in two parts had a statistical meaning,P<0.05, the difference of otic obstruction curative effect in two groups hada remarkable statistical meaning, P<0.01. The patients in the Round-up Groupsufferring syndromes of external contraction wind and flaming-up of theliver-fire, whose curative effect were simillar, had an obvious statisticaldistinguish from other syndrome ones. Patients in both groups having risingor smooth hearing curves contrasted by having descending or absolute deafnesshearing curves, the difference also had a distinct statistical meaning,P<0.01.Conclusions:By the clinical observation on 50 ISHL patients, we can see that theround-up therapy was superior to the basic one and did no harm to our bodies. The prognosis of deafness sufferers was related to deafness degree, sufferringtime, age, concomitant symptom, concomitant disease, what kind of syndrome, and what shape of hearing curves and etal. The Round-up therapy IntegratedTraditional and Western Medicine had an active and effective meaning intreating ISHL patients' some usual accompaning symptoms, such as tinnitus andotic obstruction. In a word, the clinical curative effect of the Round-up Partwas superior to the Basic Part for ISHL and there was a significant meaningfor the round-up therapy to lower the rate of handicapped persons and improvethe living quality of ISHL patients.
