This dissertation was divided into two parts. The first part is the study of some abiotic stimulate such as UV light, salicylic acid, H2O2 and wounding to affect the content of resveratrol and pecid in the leaves of polygonum cuspidatum. The resultshowed that UV light, H2O2 and wounding has induction function in different level. After 48h treatment with 10 mM SA, a considerable increase of resveratrol was found in both young and old leaves comparing to the control one. But the pecid decreased 60%. At the same time, a new peak was found in young leaves, and it also existed in old leaves. In order to identify the new peak, the old leaves were extracted with methanol and isolated by the column. 9 compounds were isolated and three of them were identified as emodin, chrysophanol and 6-sitosterol. After HPLC assay of five compounds, we found that 6-sitosterol is the compound which produced in young leaves after SA treatment. These results provided the clue on further use of polygonum cuspidatum and an evidence of an important role of SA in the development of plants. The second part is the use of powder X-ray diffraction technology on the analysis of mineral medicine. The change of Phase during the preparatum process of mineral medicine; quanlity analysis of mineral medicine in compound prescriptions, these afford experimental basis for the use of powder X- ray diffraction technology on theanalysis of traditional Chinese mineral medicine.
