Objective:To observe the expression ofα-SMA in renal tissue of 26 patients with lupus nephritis including LN type(Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴ)and the relationship of with clinical manifestation,including serum creatinine,C3,SLEDAI.To investigate the significance of transdifferentiation,the expression ofα-SMA,in Lupus nephritis.Methods:The expression ofα-SMA in renal biopsy specimens of the patients with LN were detected by immunohistochemical stains,we also investigated the relationship between the expression ofα-SMA in renal tissue in LN and clinical datus.Result:1.There was very few expression ofα-SMA in normal glomeruli and renal tubular-interstitial.Compared with the nomal control,it is significantly higher that the expression ofα-SMA in renal biopsy specimens with LN group.2.In LN the expression ofα-SMA in glumeruli was correlation with the expression ofα-SMA in tubular-interstitial.3.In LN the expression ofα-SMA in grumeruli and tubular-interstitial were correlation with serum creatinine.4.In LN the expression ofα-SMA in grumeruli and tubular-interstitial were correlation with SLE active index,C3 and SLEDAI. 5.Compared with the other type LN(Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅴ),it was significantly higher that the expression ofα-SMA,serum creatinine and SLEDAI in LNⅣtype were higher than the other LN typies,C3 was lower than the others.Conclusions:Our reseach indicate that in renal tissue the expression ofα-SMA in grumeruli and tubular-interstitial in LN are higher compared with the nomal control.In LN the expression ofα-SMA in glumeruli was correlation with the expression ofα-SMA in tubular-interstitial.The expression ofα-SMA in renal tissue can correlate with the condition of renal function,the higher expression ofα-SMA the more serious the renal function,and it also correlate with the degree of SLE activity. Especially in LN typeⅣthe expression ofα-SMA is higher than the other LN types.In conclusion,transdifferentiation and the espression ofα-SMA play siginificant role in the progression of the chronic and fibrosis in LN. Objective:to observe the cell proliferation in Juxtaglomerular apparatus area (JGA)and investigate the pathogenesis of activity of renin-angiotension system in lupus nephritis.Method:the cell proliferation of JGA in renal biopsy specimens of patients with LN were detected by immunohistochemical stains.Result:there was about 69 percent in the patients with LN which indicated the cells proliferation in JGAs.Compared with the nomal,P value<0.05.Conclusion:the cell proliferation in JGAs probably are one of the pathogenesis of the activity of renin-agiontensis system,...
