The Tongbishu Plaster is a kind of Chinese herbal compound transdermal absorption preparation, in which BC-1 polyacrylate pressure sensitive adhesive is used as matrix, when Azone and 1,2- PG as transdermal absorption enhancer. It's made of black layer, adhesive layer with Chinese medical extract and protective layer. The appearance and adhesiveness of the Patch are investigated by studying the influence factors(polymer additives, content of Chinese medical extract, solvents in mixtrue). It's found that plaster gets with 5%SBTE, 8~10% ethanol and 6~8% Ethyl acetate has best cohesion, adhesion and anti-aging resistance. The plaster, ensuring good adhesion, can contain more than 30% Chinese medical extract.In the research of quality standard, main ingredients were identified by TLC respectively, related inspection were done according to preparations general clauses. The content of effective components in Chinese medical extract is measured by proper HPLC method, which is studied by precision, reproducibility and average reeovery. Preliminary stability research had kept on 6 months; the further research is in progress. The results indicated that Tongbishu Plaster was controtable and stable.In the research of release mechanism, we found that stratum corneum, the main barriers for permeation, has an effect of storage on medicine. The enhancers also play a role in stratum corneum. The characteristic ingredient of plaster was released by t1/2 level and absorbed by zero leve.In this paper, problems such as irritation,small dose and poor adhesiveness have been solved. The technology applying Chinese medical extract to Acrylic PSAs is feasible. It can be a promising substitute for rubble plaster.
