Objective:To analysis the clinic therapeutic effects of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) with the different induction regimens and post-remission therapy in patients. To observe the clinic effects of APL with treatment of dialectical of Chinese traditional medicine in different phases of disease. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 21 newly diagnosed acute promyelocytic leukemia cases in our hospital between 1999-2007,and compared the complete remission(CR)rate, the average time of CR among groups of different induction regimens. We also compared the relapse cases and disease free survival among groups of different post-remission therapy. Results: 19 cases had CR, 2 cases died, and the total complete remission rate reached 89.5%. 2 cases with the induction regimen of all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) had CR rate of 50%, one patient died during the early therapy. the average period of CR was 42.0d.10 cases with the induction regimen included of Arsenic Trioxide (As2O3), 2 cases attached CR in the first period of treatment and the CR rate arrived at 90.0%.The average period of CR was 38.3d and one case died.9 cases with the induction regimen included of As2O3 and ATRA , 5 cases attached CR in the first period of treatment and the CR rate arrived at 100%. The average period of CR was 30.5d. Conclusions: The regimen included As2O3 and ATRA would increase CR rate, shorten the period to CR, conjugated with the treatment of dialectical of Chinese traditional medicine in different phases of disease.
