Objective:On the basis of observing the moxibustion for experimental rheumatoid arthritis(RA) model rats' anti-inflammatory effect,to explore moxibustion to regulate the RA model rats' glucocorticoid receptor(GR) mechanism of hypothalamuspituitary-adrenal axis(HPAA) function.Methods:Fourty health SD rats(Sprague-Dawley rats) were randomly divided into control group(hereinafter referred to as "blank"),the RA model group(hereinafter referred to as "model"),moxibustion treatment group(hereinafter referred to as "moxibustion") and intraperitoneal injection GR agonist and moxibustion(hereinafter referred to as" injection "),each group of 10.To produce RA animal models by Freund's Complete Adjuvant(FCA),to moxibust in "Shenshu(BL23)" and "Zusanli (ST36)" acupoints,to inject glucocorticoid receptor(GR) agonist RU28362 as a means of intervention.To detect 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT) and histamine(HA) content by fluorimetry,corticotropin-releasing hormone(CRH),adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH),glucocorticoid(GC) content in the plasma by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and GR expression in the hippocampus,hypothalamus,pituitary by immunohistochemistry method.Rosults:(1) "Model","moxibustion" and "injection" fight feet swelling increased significantly(P<0.01) compared with "blank" after modeling.After moxibustion treatment,right feet swelling of "moxibustion" were significantly lower than that of "model"(P<0.01),but there were no significant difference between "model" and "injection"(P>0.05).(2) Compared with "blank","model" 5-HT and HA content were significantly increased(P<0.01,P<0.05).After moxibustion treatment,5-HT and HA content of "moxibustion" were significantly lower than that of "model"(P<0.01),but there were no significant difference between "model" and "injection"(P>0.05).(3) Compared with "blank","model" CRH and GC content in plasma were significantly higher(P<0.01),while ACTH content were significantly lower(P<0.05).After moxibustion treatment,CRH and GC content of "moxibustion" were significantly lower than that of "model"(P<0.01),while ACTH content of "moxibustion" was significantly higher than that of "model"(P<0.05),but there were no significant difference between "model" and "injection"(P>0.05).(4) Compared with "blank","model" GR expression in hippocampus had the markup tendency(P>0.05),and compared with "model", "moxibustion" decreased significantly(P<0.01),but there were no significant difference between "model" and "injection"(P>0.05).Compared with "blank","model" GR expression in hypothalamus increased significantly(P<0.01),but compared with "model","moxibustion" and "injection" decreased significantly(P<0.01).Compared with "blank"."model" GR expression in pituitary increased significantly(P>0.01),but there were no significant difference in "model","moxibustion" and "injection"(P>0.05).Conclusions:Moxibustion in "Shenshu(BL23)" and "Zusanli(ST36)" acupoints for experimental RA model rats' has anti-inflammatory swelling.Moxibustion has the obvious regulating action to experimental RA model rats' HPAA function GR in hippocampus plays the important role of anti-inflammatory swelling and regulating HPAA functional.
