Purpose: Explore appropriate evaluation methodologies and quality ephedrae of Xinjiang district focused on the distribution of the quality evaluation of medicinal research.Method: Establish a method of Total alkaloids Determination with TLC-scanning , Awarded separately on 19 herbs in different place of ephedra alkaloids and the total determination of ephedrine hydrochloride to research.Establish a method HPLC fingerprint of 19 herbs.Result: Result of alkaloids determination: alkaloids was linear respectively within the range of 0.71~3.55μg(r=0.992).Linearity equations was y=273.79x + 235.57.The average recovery was 97.42%,(RSD=1.2%,n=5).Alkaloids content of 19 herbs(mg/ g):15.12,15.24,4.75,7.08,5.12,10,8.1,10.97,15.76,17.06,20.05,13.07,23.51,14.39,17.72,15.05,11.8,0,14.77.Result of fingerprint: The correlation coefficients of the fingerprint for Herba Ephedrae from 19 areas were(Reference samples NO.11): 0.92,0.84,0.74,0.37,0.41,0.94,0.38,0.88,0.93,0.96,1,0.87,0.92,0.89,0.88,0.93,0.95,0.36,0.87.RSD for the relative peak areas of the common peaks were less than 3%, respectively.The results showed that the reproducibility of the method was good.The solution for test was stable during 12h. Result of ephedrine hydrochloride determination(%):1.07,1.04,0.15,0.23,0.12,1.02,0.67,0.95,1.27,1.59,1.58,1.18,1.83,0.88,1.27,1.19,1.18,0.03,1.01.Conclusion: Established a methods of alkaloids determination and fingerprint of herds from 19 different areas.The results showed that the methods Precision stability and reproducibility was good,simple to operate, accurate and reliable and can be used as medicinal herbs ephedra determination the basis of quality. NO.13,11,10,15,16,9and 1 areas were high quality in contents of ephedrine alkaloids.NO.5,7,3,4 and 18 areas were low quality in contents of ephedrine alkaloids.
