Rana chensinensis David is one of the amphibians which have been known for food, medicine and tonic. It is a kind of important frog in China and one of the rare medical animals. The Oviductus Ranae is main production of Rana chensinensis David. On the basis of the comprehensive analyses of this study, the hysical characteristics, chemical components and pharmacology of oviductus that were from Rana chensinensis David, Rana nigromaculata Hallowell and Bufo bufo gargarizans Cantor were investigated and compared. The results were reached as follows:The test of morphological, microscopic characteristics,physical characters and expansion index showed that there was some difference among the oviduct of three kinds of frog. The oviduct of Rana chensinensis David had the identical characters of uniform caliber, transparence, fat luster, creamy feeling, special fat smell, the gland cell which arranges close is rectangular and yellow-white in color, which were different from those in Rana nigromaculata Hallowell and Bufo bufo gargarizans Cantor. The oviduct of Rana nigromaculata Hallowell had the identical characters of uniform caliber, fat luster, fragile in texture, spicy smell, the gland cell was pentagon, and the cell nucleus was obvious. The oviduct of Bufo bufo gargarizans Cantor was anomalistic in caliber, hard a bit in texture, and had a smell of slightly sweet, the gland cell was anomalistic in morphologic, and the cell nucleus was unconspicuous. The expansion index of dried oviduct in Rana chensinensis David was 57, which were as high as 1.27 and 1.78 times of that in Rana nigromaculata Hallowell and Bufo bufo gargarizans Cantor respectively.The test of chemical components showed that the oviduct of Rana chensinensis David had the highest content of CP,and eontained rich trace elements, the content of Ca in the oviduet of the Rana chensinensis David was 2.41 and 1.98 times as high as that of the Rana nigromaculata Hallowell and Bufo bufo gargarizans Cantor respectively. The contents of E2 among the oviduct of three kinds of frog were mensurated by reversed-HPLC, the optimal chromatographic conditions for the HPLC was set up. The method was convenient,rapid and reduplicate, We would establish a sensitive and specific HPLC method for the quantity control of the oviduct of three kinds of frog. The determination of E2 showed that the oviducts was Rana chensinensis David > Rana nigromaculata Hallowell >Bufo bufo gargarizans Cantor. Analysis of fatty acids by GC/MS showed that 15 kinds of fatty acids,8 kinds among which were unsaturated,were found in the oviduet of Rana chensinensis David and Rana nigromaculata Hallowell. For Bufo bufo gargarizans Cantor,there were 14 kinds of fatty aeids,which included the same 8 kinds of unsaturated fatty acids too. The total relative contents of unsaturated fatty acids in the oviduet of three kinds of frog is Rana nigromaculata Hallowell>Rana chensinensis David>Bufo bufo gargarizans Cantor. The content of EAA in the oviduet of Rana chensinensis David was highest in three kinds of frog, which was 1.72 and 1.15 times as high as that of brown frog and bull frog respectively.In the main pharmacodynamics test, the fatigue resistanc, the immunity test and the anti-oxidation test were studied.The fatigue resistanc research was conducted on the burden swimming experiment of mice, and measured the content of urea nitrogen in mouse′s serum after swimming. The results showed the swimming time of the burdened mice fed with oviducts was prolonged, the urea nitrogen in serum decreased. The difference between each experimental group and the control was significant. The result of immunoregulating activity experiment showed that Oviductus Ranae can significantly increase spleen index, thymus index and promote the swallowing ability of phagocytic function of Mφin vivo of experimental mouse. But, there was no significant difference between Bufo bufo gargarizans Cantor group and control group. The Anti-aging test showed the oviduct of three kinds of frog can obviously enhance vital force of SOD and reduce the content of MDA in serum of senile model mouse,obviously sharpen the oxidation resistance ability, displays the function that delays the senile.
