| ObjectiveThis study investgates the distribution of symptoms and the TCM symptom pattern of patients with type 2 diabetic hyperlipidemia, and discuss the correlation between TCM symptom pattern and the results of biochemical tests,in order to provide the basis of the early diagnosis and prompt treatment for the patients, and to provide theoretical basis for objective TCM dialectics by building a bridge between the micro indicators and macro dialectic.MethodsWe record the general state and biochemical tests data of 100 patients, and collecte the four diagnostic information (symptoms, tongue and pulse) in order to summarize TCM symptom pattern, and realize the general state of patients, distribution of common symptoms and TCM symptom pattern, and the correlation between TCM symptom pattern and the results of biochemical tests. We also draw conclusions about the influention of age, gender, and body mass index, physical activity, dietary habits, smoking, drinking and other related factors.Results1.general state:In 100 cases, percent of overweight is 53.0, and the fat is 22.0 percent; biological indicators:about blood sugar levels,HbAlc increased most significantly (accounts for 73%), at the same time the levels of TG and HDL-C are obviously abnormal (accounts for 66% each); 2. symptoms of distribution:the frequency of the top ten symptoms:1. malaise fatigue (accounts for 76%); 2. blurred vision (accounts for 70%); 3. forgetfulness (accounts for 68%); 4. irritability (accounts for 66%); 5. throat dry mouth (accounts for 65%); 6. thirsty hi drink (accounts for 62%); 7. constipation (accounts for 60%); 8. lassitude knees (accounts for 61%); 9. insomnia (accounts for 59%); 10. pain in the limbs (accounts for 59%).3. TCM symptom pattern:37%deficiency,28%positive,35% deficiency complicated with excess; single symptom pattern 40%; two symptom pattern combination 36%; three symptom pattern combination 20%; four symptom pattern combinations 4%.4. Syndromes and biochemical indicators:the levels of LDL-C among three groups are significantly diffrent (P<0.05), positive group is higher than the other two groups; 5. Relevant factors on the biochemical indexes:gender, the fasting glucose levels of male patients is significantly higher than that of female patients (P<0.05); age, TG levels of the age group between 65~75 patients is significantly belower than that of the age group between 65~75 (P<0.05); smoking, the fasting plasma glucose levels of smoker is significantly higher than non-smoking group (P<0.05), and the glycosylated hemoglobin levels of smoking group is significantly higher than non-smoking group (P<0.01). ConclusionsThe incidence of obesity in patients with type 2 diabetic hyperlipidemia is very high, especially the incidence of central obesity; The control rate of blood glucose and lipid in 100 patients is very low; The symptoms of this disease is scattered, the performance of clinic is complex and atypical; Qi and Yin deficiency type is the main type of type 2 diabetic hyperlipidemia; this study suggests that TCM symptom patterns and lipids are relevant in some respects; Age, sex, smoking history are related factors of blood glucose or lipid levels in patients to some extent. |
