ObjectiveDiabetic retinopathy is a severe ocular complication of diabetes,it often leads to nonreversible visual function damage or complete loss of sight. Thus,it is very important to diagnose and treat in early period. This Study investigates the pattern of sYndrome and correlation factors of DR,and the attitude of the patients themselves as well as the physicians. The objective of the study is to approach the TCM symptom pattern regularity and the related influential factors,to discover the problems in the process of diagnosis and treatment, and then to diagnose and treat DR in time by the common endeavour of the patients and the doctors.MethodThe research data is gotten by questionnaire and both physical and chemical examination of 65 type 2 diabetes patients without DR(NDR group) and 68 patients with DR(DR group). To discover the TCM symptom pattern, general state, biochemistry characteristic and the reconstruction degree of the patients of two groups.Run the data by statistical analysis and then to gain the conclusion.Result1.The TCM symptom patterns emerge more frequently except phlegmatic hygrosis pattern in the DR group. In both the two grougs, syndrome with yin asthenia emerges the most frequently of the deficient syndromes, syndrome with yang asthenia emerges more frequently in the DR group;of the sthenia syndromes, phlegmatic hygrosis pattern prevails in the NDR group and blood stasis pattern prevails in the DR group.Syndrome of deficiency of YIN,syndrome of deficiency of QI and syndrome of blood stasis often emerges simultaneously in NDR and BDR.2.Age,blood glucose level,Course of diabetes,SBP and UALB contrasts markedly between the two groups, but gender,BMI,DBP,hypertension:course, blood fat level, abnormal blood fat course, uric acid and hyperuricacidemia course contrasts quietly. The factors above contrast quietly amomg the three stages of BDR.3.17.7%of the patients in the DR group were told to examine fundus oculi when they were diagnosed diabetes for the first time, and the ratio of NDR group is 53.8%.There is statistical difference between the two groups(P<0.0001).In the DR group, the ratio of the the patients who examine fundus oculi because of the doctors' s advice is 11.8%,and 56.9% in the NDR group. There is statistical difference between the two groups(P<0.0001).94.1%patients in the DR group were diagnosed DR by their first fundus oculi examination. The patients in the DR group pay less attention to diabetes and the compliance is worse.ConclusionThere has been bothdeficient syndrome and sthenia syndrome in DR.Yin asthenia has prevailed and there has been a transformation process from yin asthenia to deficiency of both vital energy and yin and then to deficiency of both yin and yang.Blood stasis pattern has prevailed in DR.Syndrome of stagnation of QI has raised as the development of the disease, thus, psychological treatment has been essential.Age,blood glucose level, course of diabetes,SBP and UALB has correlated with the development of DR.Ggender,BMI,DBP,hypertension course, blood fat level, abnormal blood fat course, uric acid and hyperuricacidemia course has not correlated with the develompent of DR.At present, both doctors and patients have neglected DR.It has been important to lead patients to exam fundus oculi in time in order to diagnose and treat DR in early period by the common endeavour of the patients and the doctors.
