1.Objective:To observe effect of acupuncture with different needle-retaining time on non-organic insomnia patients in order to make further standard for the clinical research.2.Method:According to the random digits table, the patients who were the objects of observation, from acupuncture department in Dongfang hospital, divided into two groups. One was treatment group (20 minutes), the other was control group (40 minutes). There were 30 patients in each group. The acupoints were DU20 (Baihui), DU24 (Shenting), GB13 (Benshen), Anmian, HT7 (Shenmen), PC6 (Neiguan), ST36 (Zusanli), SP6 (Sanyinjiao), LR3 (Taichong). The two groups were same in acupuncture manipulation and acupoints. About needle-retaining time, the treatment group was 20 minutes and the control group was 40 minutes. Acupuncture once a day,10 times as a period of treatment. The two groups had two periods of treatment. After a period and the second period, observed the reduction rate of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). With comparing the patients'PSQI scores before and after the treatment, the clinical curative effect of needling was evaluated. After getting the two groups'clinical curative effect, we used T test and X2test to evaluate the relationship between needle-retaining time and clinical curative effect. After six and eight weeks, we would make a follow-up visit to the patients, and made PSQI test again to observe the long-term effection.3.Result:3.1.After 4 weeks, there was no significant difference in PSQI between the treatment group and the control group (P>0.05). There was no significant difference about the effect between 20 minutes group and 40 minutes group in this research.3.2.The inter-group's PSQI credits both of the treatment group and the control group had significant statistically differences (P<0.0001) between before the treat and after 4 weeks. After 4 weeks treating, the effecting rate was 73.33% in the treatment group and was 56.67% in the control group.3.3.After 4 weeks treatment, the treatment group and the control group had no significant difference in sleep quality, falling asleep time, sleep time, sleep efficiency, daytime dysfunction (P>0.05). Compared with the PSQI scores in front and after treatment in sleep quality, falling asleep time, sleep time, sleep efficiency, daytime dysfunction, the two groups had significant difference (P<0.05).3.4. The inter-group's PSQI credits with two groups had significant difference P<0.05) in before treatment and 6 weeks after treatment, in before treatment and 8 weeks after treatment.4.Conclusion:From this clinical observation, it has no significant difference in clinical effect between 20min group and 40min group. According to the results of this research, it is effective that acupuncture cure to insomnia. It can improve the difficulty falling asleep, sleep quality and dayt ime dysfunct ion.
