Purpose: To study the proliferation of new bone only pill on the basic fibroblast growth factor (basic fibroblast growth factor, bFGF) in the rabbit cartilage injury and repair process in rats.Material and method: 20 male rabbits were randomly divided into experimental and control groups, the experimental group and control group of rabbits fed normal diet 1 week Hou Xing right side of the lateral femoral condyle drilling modeling. Only the experimental group to the new bone hyperplasia pill 1g/kg (dissolved with 40ml distilled water) gavage for 4 weeks, once a day in the control group with normal saline equal to the other sub-gavage for 4 weeks. Removed under sterile conditions in the two groups of animals, the right side of the lateral condyle of the femur specimens, specimens were placed in 4% paraformaldehyde solution at 4℃fixed after 24 hours in order to bFGF immunohistochemical staining for histological and immunohistochemical test were compared expression of cartilage cells in the number of positive cells in the optical density value.Results: The naked eye within the control group, cartilage defects dim red part of the loose connective tissue filling the cartilage surface is not smooth, defect local depression significantly, while the experimental group, cartilage defects were filled with milky white translucent membrane-like tissue, the color is similar to normal cartilage, cartilage surface than the smooth, slightly depressed. Microscope results showed that defects in the control group was not effective after repair cartilage defects in most of the filling for the fiber-like tissue, and granulation tissue, cartilage surface is not flat and there is significant depression, repairing cells, disordered, fiber cartilage cells smaller nuclei. Defects in the experimental group had been significantly repaired cartilage defects in a large number of cells were arranged in a more messy, clear nuclei were round and oval-shaped, smooth cartilage surface; nucleus large and clear. Experimental group (TCM group) of chondrocytes in the number of positive cells to express the optical density was significantly higher than the control group, after a statistical test P <0.05, there are statistically significant.Conclusions: explaining the new bone proliferation only pills can contribute to basic fibroblast growth factor expression to promote cartilage repair.
