| Numerous artists have created countless artistic gems in the process of searching for the truth, the good, and the beauty, which shine in their particular ways. With the painting languages becoming various along the history of arts, the content of painting also changes as the result of the development of society, the changes of perspective to the truth, the good and the beauty. In the painting creation, the changes of painting languages are not because of the painters'peculiarity. All works of art are deeply rooted in the time, and are the reflections of realities, ideals, and emotions. The various forms of arts come into being and develop from the artists inspections to the truth, the good and the beauty, from the reseach of arts itself, and from the artists'arduous exploration of ways of expressing their ideas. Every reforms of arts are the artists'explanations of the truth, the good and the beauty from different perspectives and extents. In the works of Van Gore and Monker, we can perceive that the change of painting styles are from the objective to the subjective. From their works we can see clearly the the emotions behind the painting language and also the momentum and basis of these changes. When we see their works such as Star Night, Howl ,we can always feel the strong emotional strength. With the painting languages and emotions perfectly combined, they have clearly conveyed their feelings. Beautiful pictures can always show the inner world of its creators clearly and attract their audience. Thus I would like to explain their thoughts on creation and their distinctive painting languages from a emotional view so that I can have my pointviews of the relationship between the painting languages and the artists'emotions. The thesis has three parts, the first part is a brief biography of the artists, their life experiences and characters, based on which the artists'painting style will ube discussed. The second part is about the characteristics of their works, the authers'thoughts on creating them, the relationships between painting languages and emotional expressions, etc. .The third part is about their views of the relationship between their emotions and painting languages and the inspirations they brought for us. I think the thoughts of Von Gore and Monker can be helpful to some painters in terms of their objective-to-subjective transformations in their artistic creations, and can help them express their feelings and emotions more freely. These views of the two great masters can be clearly seen in their works, which is one of the reasons why I have selected the two as my topic of this thesis. |
