The Past Decade Dulcimer Creative Thinking

Currently, there is a considerable body of research on the compositions of Chinese dulcimer completed in the 20th century, while research conducted on the compositions of Chinese dulcimer in the past decade is relatively small in number. Therefore, the author believes that the study of the compositions in the past decade bears vital significance to the future development of Chinese dulcimer.The current article reflects upon the pros and cons of the compositions of Chinese dulcimer in the above‐mentioned period, hoping to shed some light on the creation of the compositions of Chinese dulcimer by examining and summarizing the compositions of Chinese dulcimer in the past ten years. It is argued that handling the relationship in a proper manner among inheritance, reference and innovation is of crucial importance to the formation of the musical charm, the culture connotation and the characteristics of teaching music and will serve the supportive function to stimulate the vigor of Chinese dulcimer.In this light, the author examines the topic from three perspectives. Chapter One, transplanting, editing and composing; Chapter Two, the successful experience of composing and the tiny drawback; Chapter Three, inheritance, reference and innovation.
