Study Of Lijiang Naxi Houses Hanging Fish Decorative Arts

The thesis is a study on the "hanging fish" decoration of Naxi ethnic minority's traditional residences in Lijiang, Yunnan province.It summarized the functions of the "hanging fish" decoration of Lijiang Naxi minority from three aspects--the decorative content,the construction and the color application according to Lijiang's unique geographic environment, the historical and cultural background of the "hanging fish" and the Naxi ethnic minority's customs and habits.These features are obviously different from the "hanging fish" in other domestic regions owning to its rich plateau minority characteristics.It elaborates the historical and cultural origins of the "hanging fish" and the social customs of Naxi minority, and emphasized the classification.Firstly, it introduces the "hanging fish", and then gives a knowledge of its architectural location and basic features.Secondly, it makes out the own characteristics of the Naxi "hanging fish" by analyzing the connection of the "hanging fish" decoration and the local architectural practices in Lijiang, and that of the geographic environment and the customs and rites. Thirdly, it traces back to the Naxi culture and history from its origin, the architectural class system and the included social customs and cultures of the "hanging fish".Fourthly, it analyzes the respective function of the meanings of decoration as part of the structure, proceeding from the actual structure of the Lijiang "hanging fish" decoration. Fifthly,it classifies the Lijiang "hanging fish" for research from the "hanging fish" decoration's theme,construction and color application. Sixthly, it explains how the beauty of Naxi "hanging fish" generates and how it presents from its modelling, color, fitting the building, having relationship with the custom and culture and so on.Seventhly, it figures out the decorative peculiarity in the comparison of the Naxi "hanging fish" decoration and the "hanging fish" in Taishun area of Zhejiang and that of other areas in Yunnan. Finally, it draws a conclusion that "hanging fish" be the practical slab of the building first, and then be one of the architectural ornament, and Naxi minority "hanging fish" in Lijiang differs from that of other areas by the modeling being concise and Much as an abstract geometrical configuration.By the research, I think the "hanging fish" in Lijiang area have obvious differences from that of other areas, its adornment characteristic is bright, having important values on the academic research, a reference for design and operation of the project etc.by the research on its modeling and decorative arts.
