Analysis Of Major Ideological Tendencies Of The Hollywood Movie

Since the founding, our country is always attaching great importance to the field of ideology problem. China's mainstream ideology is marxist ideology, guides the socialist construction of our country, related to people's every aspect of life. However, reform and opening up in China's economic and social development are also opened to varieties of western ideology. Our country's ideology construction faces new challenges. From the aspect of the viewpoint of the marxist ideology theory and the functions of ideology, we try to analyse three main western ideology—individualism, new liberalism and racism—implied in the culture product—movie.This text openned first by expounding of the concept of ideology source and marxist ideology of four critical point of view and the function of ideology, as a basic analysis theory. Then due to Hollywood movie and American social structure analysis we obtain that the Hollywood movies are the American white middle-class ideology and we select the three major ideological tendencies: individualism, new liberalism and racism.Then we make a one-by-one analysis. And, because these three categories are different from each other and in according to the logic, the discusses also differs from each other.The third chapter analyses the individualism. Firstly expounds the connotation of individualism, then analyzed the social and historical roots Then combining Hollywood movies to individualism ideology, the effect is analyzed not only by introducing the harm to our social construction in one aspect, but also a good side, we should guide the individualism to do good to the development of China, and to the socialist market economy.The fourth chapter analyses the new liberalism. As a theory coming from economy, the structure of the new liberalism is very broad. So in the basis of analysis of the social an historical roots,we choose two forms of the new liberalism—the universal value and the ideology eventually conclusion— combining with the means and transmissions of new liberalism and the impact they produced to point out that new liberalism policy on China's construction is extremely harmful, we should be vigilant.The fifth chapter analyses the racism. Through the analysis of American racism theoretical connotation and the analysis of social and historical roots in together, and then we analysed the act that American racism took in domestic and in international, concludede that American racism geting into international evolved into "cultural racism," and its main realizable forms—cultural imperialism, cultural hegemony and cultural colonization.We analysed the essence and the ideology effect of them, and pointed out that we should stick to and carry forward Chinese national spirit and the traditional culture, and watch out for American cultural imperialism.
