Since entering the 1990s, western various thoughts have swarmed into China again, and with the development of market economy, people's idea is struck acutely. Individual ideas are gradually set up, human's subjectivity is valued, personality and freedom is highly respected. Since the 1990s, the development of modern bildungsroman tightly encloses the themes of expressing people's individuality, from two directions, which includes covering human nature before the 1990s and advocating now, displaying difficult process of individual growth.The paper takes the bildungsroman from the nineties as the research object, through trimming its theme discourse, growth mode and the writing style, narrative perspective, and discusses the psychic confusion which young people meet with. Accordingly, analyzing the real connotation of people's growing up, helps growth position.Introduction Summing up the aesthetic sense and social significance of the bildungsroman research, explaining the research status of Chinese bildungsroman, and the paper's research ideas.Chapter One There are two basically parts. The first part introduces the origin of the modern bildungsroman's concept, original development situation. In English literature, modern bildungsroman has all sorts of names, like "education novels," "accomplishment novels," "development novels", etc.Influential scholars such as Marcos, Bakhtin determined such names as "modern bildungsroman", "education" novels. And when these names were translated to China, there were "education" novels which LiuBannong named, "accomplishment novel" which FengZhi called. In fact, the "modern bildungsroman" has developed in the west as one kind of mature novel types, and interiorly, it's RuiYuping who made a systematic and meticulous study of western growth novels that represented by America. In the second part, writer defines the concept and connotation of bildungsroman, laying good foundation for the key of the whole thesis.Chapter Two The theme and writing on the Chinese bildungsroman since the 1990s. The Chinese literature started to really express individual survival and characteristic since the middle of 1980s, bildungsroman is also in the changing list. The most obvious change is that the individual growth regress daily life, no longer related to the grand narrative of the state, nation and the history. Based on the analysis of the specific writers' magnum opus since 1990s, writer sums up the keywords of the more representative text are:rebelling, straying, loneliness, and desire. It also analyzes the writing way of these four subjects:absurd and rebel writing, own experiential writing, poetic writing and cruel reality writing.Chapter Three The growth mode of Chinese bildungsroman since 1990s. Now Chinese bildungsroman has approximately formed four growth modes to realize different creation goals:bemused and natural characters, returning to ordinary, chasing oneself and eventful growth. By masterpieces, the paper analyses carefully inherent changes of the four classes' mode of growth.Chapter Four Chinese bildungsroman's narrative perspective since 1990s. Narrative perspective is an important part of western Narratology, the analysis to the bildungsroman's narrative perspective, have the aid of the texts using person type, which can not only avoid the theoretical loopholes that completely analyse with western narrative perspective, but also achieve the goal of the texts research straightforward.Epilogue Combining reason of bildungsroman thriving to illuminate the perplexity produced by growing people during spiritual exploration, practical significance on the paper, and making the final summary.
