Shaanxi Folk Songs Of Northern Shanxi Folk Song Is A Comparative Study

Northern part of Shaanxi and that part of Shanxi Province area, are central blending area of ZhongYuan(middle of China) farming culture and northern grassland culture. With similar natural geographical environment, historical culture background and custom, and being in the same language area, all these factors make their folk songs has greatly similarity and characteristics in the style. However, still each has its own unique characteristics.The thesis mainly attempts to compare folk songs form northern Shaanxi and Shanxi Province from four aspects.They are:Chapter one, from historical point of view, the author makes a research and comparatively studies the background and development of folk songs. In history, because the unique geographical position of northern Shaanxi, it has been formed a fusion culture with Qin culture as the main body, and other ethnic minorities culture, such as the northern grassland culture. Folk songs of northern Shaanxi history another important development period-introduced the development period. What' more, another important period of Shaanxi folk songs named the develop period of ShanGanNing is also detailed described here. Folk songs form northern part of Shanxi is the most representative with the distinctive characters. History of violence and migration help to form a certain local culture here with the feature of area fusion.Chapter Two, from the geographical environment, historical culture, custom, and language characteristics of both northern Shaanxi and Shanxi Province, features of folk songs there are respectively compared and analyzed. Meanwhile, content and type of folk music, structure of folk music and main type characteristic, as well as its performance content also are made detail analysis and comparison. Northern Shaanxi and Shanxi Provinces are located on loess plateau facing every Yellow River, with similar living environment and production conditions, so that both of their people have many similar living habits. In history Shaanxi and Shanxi Provinces was always functioning as frontier and fortress. Wars and Migration caused national confluence both historically and culturally. Because co-exist of many religions, people become polytheists. Northern Shaanxi and Shanxi Province are in a language area, and similar language will produce great similarities in the folk singing. In many songs of XinTianYou and mountain songs, the use of metaphor tactics is the common characteristic. Compared with XinTianYou, melody of Mountain Songs is more exquisite and internal. Melody of XinTianYou was more roundly and external. In addition, Shaanxi and Shanxi respectively has their own unique music features and species of folk singing.Chapter three, the writher analyzes the enlightenment of the two folk songs of Shaanxi and Shanxi Province to ethnic vocal music teaching and performing today.The differences between the original folk singing method and today's college ethnic vocal music teaching also compared and analyzed, and situation in which the original ecological folk songs teaching integrate in ethnic vocal music teaching in academic teaching is also deeply discussed, and a practical example is given here.Chapter Four mainly discusses development and present situation of Folk Songs between northern Shaanxi and Shanxi Province in recent years. The status quo of protection in recent years is presented and good suggestions are given. Finally inheritance significance of the two kinds of folk songs is emphasized.Chapter five is the conclusion. The original ecological folk song is the source of our Chinese nation vocal. Only when we study and grasp the characteristics of our root, folk songs which are sung by people nowadays can be mass accepted and the essence of our national culture can be mastered and passed down generation and generation. So research, protection, development and the inheritance of ethnic vocal is an important mission before us today.
