Joseph Heller (1923—1999)is one of the most popular Black Humor novelist.A worldly trend was flourished since his masterpiece Catch—22(1961)published in the USA.Year in and year out,50 years later, Black Humor as a genre is no longer popular as before, but as a creative style, Black Humor has a deep influence on contemporary writing and life.As a classic masterpiece, no other novel can instead Catch—22'status in the literary history. Heller produce many good works, but this is the best.Studies have described it is voluminous, but these studies did not fully summarize the rich connotations of this work. Now I use several new perspectives which from Michel Foucault (1926-1984)to analyze the hero Yossarian'social plight and how he resist it in Catch—22. In this paper, I trying made mine own interpretation on the classic work. This paper is divided into five chapters, eight parts:Part of the translations and introductions of his works, summing-up of the studies on the Catch—22 and why I choose this topic. The first chapter is deconstruction of the body- modern medicine is unnatural.Heller's depicting vividly demonstrated how the modern medicine control human. And his anxiety of the unnatural of modern medicine. He is also thought that maybe modern medical as a science is not good for us.The second chapter is Yossarian in loneliness.Contemporary people are more like to express himself but they lost the audience who can talk to.This situation reflects in the contemporary world, the loneliness of yourself and your helplessness resistance to it.The third chapter is Yossarian in the fracture and several human dimensions. This chapter from the depiction of sex scenes and the discussion of Yossarian whether or not the anti-hero, and the discussion of madness this three angles point out that the hero'value is distorted by normal criteria. Also demonstrated in this highly stressful environment, the hero's relentless spirit of resistance. The fourth chapter is the disciplinary society - the absurdity of the world under military regulations. Catch—22 reflects the general condition of disciplinary society, the book describes the discipline in the human from the physical to spirit, and the expansion of the scope of the discipline. Heller also pointing out how we against the road of discipline and human alienation in this industrial, post-industrial era. and by this trying he was provided a very lively comments for Michel Foucault's disciplinary society. The last chapter is where to escape - Sweden the Heterotopia.Foucault's Heterotopia is a new shelter for the contemporary modern society. In the Catch—22, the yearning of the heart of Yossarian reflects that Sweden has very obvious Heterotopias features. In epilogue, I try to demonstrate and comprehensive interpretation the dilemma which Yossarian had fallen in and his resistance to this dilemma.
