Called The Plight Of The Phenomenon In Modern Chinese Verbal Communication Research

Although the research on calling predicament have proposed by researcher long time ago, but most of all for one example. This thesis made a monographic study on this phenomenon.Based on large scale interviews and surveys, this thesis first described various situations of the calling predicament and the present using situation of calling words in details. This work is never appeared in any research. After the detailed description and statistical analysis on calling predicament, we proposed that the property of this phenomenon is a language expression predicament and it is a phenomenon appears in communication activities. The essential reason of it is contradiction among language, thought and outside world. So we have to research and resolve this problem in language communications and meanwhile we think calling predicament has some links with missing calling words, but the properties of these two problems are different.After we have a clear understanding on the property of calling predicament, the thesis presents three calling pragmatic principles-the principles of courtesy, decency principles and the principles of interpersonal acceptance. And then we analyzed that the direct cause of calling predicament calling words can not satisfy the calling pragmatic principles. This research also combined social linguistics and psychology to analyze the emergence of some of calling predicament's factors, which include social structures, relationships and value ethics.Based on the investigation and analysis, we propose four strategies of solution about calling predicament:(1) to build up a new value of the ethics; (2)to solve the problem in specific verbal communication; (3) to develop the good habit of self-introduction; (4) to use of zero-title calling politely, and we also made predictions on the development trend of calling predicament. We believe that:(1) as one of language expression problems calling predicament phenomenon will always exist; (2) long-term existence of zero-title calling; (3) the universality of the name calling will be enhanced. Although in theory there will always be called predicament, but by using a number of strategies we can reduce the chance of its appearance, start communication smoothly and improve the communication quality.This thesis made a monographic study on calling predicament, and made large scale of investigations and interviews and then analyzed and gathered statistics of the results. We also proposed some humble suggestions on the theory research part of calling predicament, and we hope all these work can provide some information and reference to the follow-up study on calling predicament.
