With the TCFL industry to flourish, and its teaching research is also in full swing. Materials comparison of which is a meaningful study. In the many of materials comparison, accounting for the main component of which is the comparative study of same language; but teaching research among different languages has many gaps. Although the language among different language system is not alike, the three elements of language of are interlinked, and it worths study. The material research and development of English as Second Language has achieved considerable results, so we select the classic English Course "New Concept English" as a comparison object. Chinese teaching "New Practical Chinese Reader" is a classic textbook which is very popular at home and abroad.Exercise is an important part of teaching materials, we compare the two sets of textbooks starting from the perspective of exercise research. Studies on the classification exercise, we make a comparative study from two major aspects of language knowledge training and speech skills. Knowledge of language training from three angles of voice exercises, vocabulary exercises and grammar exercises is investigated, and language skill from four perspectives of listening practice, speaking practice, reading practice and writing exercises is investigated. Through the above of detailed comparative study, we find that most exercises design in "New Concept English" are more reasonable, it is very worthy to learn in the future of preparing Chinese teaching materials. In the same time of comparison and analysis, we also discover some problems, evoke some thoughts on writing exercises.
