This article is divided into three chapters. The first section presents the evolution of the name of the ancient broker. ChapterⅡlists the legal system and economic disputes of the ancient broker. The third chapter compare similarities and differences between the above. Here a brief summary from the three chapters:With the name changes of the ancient brokers, functions also changed significantly. To promote changes in the functions, the main reason is that official government intervetion. Since the Song Dynasty, the ancient brokers haved the official public functions.Changes of the funcitions promote the legal system more complete and specificate. On the one hand, the ancient agent has a positive effection on the development of the commodity economy, increase government revenue. On the other hand, the ancient brokers dominate the market, that produce more and more disputes with the merchant.Before the Five Dynasties, the government did not involved in the industry of the ancient brokers directly. During the Tang Dynasty, the ancient brokers have been given the right of the supervisory in the business firstly. Because the high level development of the economic in the Song Dynasty,the legal system of the ancient agent became more standardized. The above culminated in the Ming and Qing Dynasty. The legal norms have been used in the dispute betterly.
