Kwan's Shadow Play "investigation Report"

Shadow play is a kind of traditional integrated arts in China, which contains fine arts, music and literature in its performance. The early form of shadow play can be dated back to the Han dynasty. And, it gains its wide transition and development during the Tang and the Song dynasty. The shadow play in Northeast China was transferred from Hebei province during the late years of the Ming dynasty, besides there exists a local shadow play in Northeast China. The Guan's shadow play takes activities in northern part of Liaoning province, whose starter is a folk painter-Guan Youfu living during the Dao Guang to Tong Zhi years. And now, the representative artist of the fourth generation in Guan's group is Mr. Guan Chengxi, who is living in Ma Gang Village Ma Gang County, Shenbei District, Shenyang City. In 2009, theGuan's group is selected as an oral culture heritage in Liaoning province. Guan's shadow is not a school of Chinese shadow play art,which is not created by Guan people, either. Taking the Guan's shadow play group as an individual target, this article will carry investigations and study of it, in an approach of ethnomusicological research and card the relative materials. Besides, in this paper, the inner and outer affecting factors, including general geographical situations, the transferring relationship and ect, will be stated. On the other hand, in the traditional music researching method, the last chapter will state and analyze the role classification, musical accompaniment, instrumentation and verses.
