Reproduction, Explore Traditional Chinese Cultural Elements In Contemporary Sculpture

In the development of the Chinese modern art since the 20th century, although it has been influenced by the main-stream western art, from the standing point of the native nation, a large quantity of the artists have been digging the segments of the Chinese traditional culture which are considered as the origin of the creation in various forms. The Chinese traditional culture really draws well in the international modern artwork market. Chinese traditional culture is extensive and profound, with a long history. Among the four great ancient civilizations, only Chinese culture, as the main culture, has remained until now. China, who regards the traditional culture as the basis of the nation, has lasted for five thousand years. However, we have to admit that, in the recent several hundreds of years, Chinese traditional culture has been suppressed and discarded unprecedentedly.In today, people start to dig and reflect what China's belongings are, and which can represent China. Particularly in the modern art, the artists begin to discuss how to continue the broken Chinese traditional culture and make it as the main motivation and source of creation. This article offers thoughts on how to present the core of the traditional culture in the modern sculpture culture, and formulates the different opinions of the traditional culture together with the background of the present period so that we promote the creation means and study of the modern sculpture culture, which aims to develop the traditional culture.
