As the greatest romantic poet of China, li Po played a important role in theChinese literature history. This dissertation tries to study comprehensively thepoet's romanticism charactor. The author wants to give a new explaination to LiPo's romanticism. The author's opinion showld be expressed like this: Li Po'sromanticism was informed by two as pests, one is Li Po's individual personality,the other is the opening Character of High Tang. but the former is the main reason.Li Po had a personality pursuing individval freedom. It was so enthusiastic that hecouldn' t endure the traditional tics. when the society couldn't provide him thecondition which would realize his freedom ideal, he turned to the Taoist thoughwhich advocated chivalry and righ teousness. Li Po also tried to find his ideal fromtraditionl myth. All of these formed Li Po's romanticism.The autor also analysed the tragedy of Li Po's romanticism, but the authorspecially pointed that Li Po's romanticism was not positive,yet active. Facing tothe heavy reality. Li Po didn't submit and became depressed,instead, he expressedhis enthusiam to life and nature through his immortal poems.
