On The Imagery Of Chivalry Poetry In Prosperous Tang Dynasty

Chivalry Poetry is a highlight in ancient Chinese poetry, which reached the peak in Prosperous Tang Dynasty. Therefore, chivalry poetry of Tang Dynasty deserves great concern. Since the 1980s in the 20th century, researches on chivalry poetry, especially poetry of the Tang Dynasty have made great progress, but these studies are majorly concerned with the historical and cultural aspects of Chivalry Poetry, showing little attention to the literature noumenon, let alone concerning the imagery. However, the formation of this style largely depends on its idiomatic image. Thus, this paper selects the imagery of chivalry poetry as the research subject.This article is divided into five parts: in the part of introduction, it briefly states the current research on chivalry poetry in Tang Dynasty, pointing out that previous achievements and deficiency in this area; the first chapter defines Chivalry, Chivalry poetry, imagery and other terms, laying the foundation of this paper; the second chapter analyzes the origins of poetry, classification and the reason for its prosperity, giving a comprehensive analysis. The third chapter focuses on the usual image and important individual image. the poetry of common and important individual image group. Chivalry poetry consists of five image groups, including knight errant image group, hostile image group, space-time image group and natural scenery image group, which are the essential material forming Tang chivalry poetry and undertake the spirit of this poetry.In addition to these image groups, the chivalry poetry in Prosperous Tang Dynasty has many important individual images. The writer only selects the most frequently "horse" image as a representative of the concrete image, exploring the reason and significance of its existence. The fourth chapter talks about some complicated questions on this chivalry poetry image. Matching with some important words, Chivalry Poetry Images generate more content-rich composite images. This article summarizes the achievements and shortcomings .in the field of researching chivalry poetry imagery.Based on the research of the popular chivalry poetry images groups, important images individual and composite images, this paper tries to explore regularity of the construction, creation and expression of chivalry poetry, which will help the readers or researchers have a further mastery of the essence of the whole Chivalry poetry, a better understanding of the poetry with unique artistic charm.
