This thesis focuses on the relation between human beings and nature in ancient agriculture society, and also the environmental changes?influence upon human抯 economical activities is included. On the basis of this research the author puts forward a new opinion:the reason why the economical center of ancient China moved from north to south is economical decline in the GuanZhong area.Four parts are involved in this thesis. Firstly, on the foundation of the former studies, the author makes a more detailed and more exact statistics on GuanZhong抯 main disasters in Tang Dynasty, and concludes that the main natural disasters, such as floods, drought and famine, occurred more frequently and more badly. Secondly, through the deep review of economical activities a conclusion can be drawn that there existed serious water resource shortage in GuanZhong in Tang Dynasty. Thirdly, the author believes not only that the frequent natural disasters and the lack of water resource reflected the worsening of environment and proved this point by the researches on human activities and nature in this area, but also that the worsening of environment is mainly caused by the excess and disorder human exploitation. Fourthly, by the researches on the following items: natural disasters?damage upon agriculture and water resource shortage抯 disadvantage influence the author thinks that the worsening of nature resulted in the economical development stagnation in GuanZhong area, therefore the economical center of China was replaced by Yangtzi valley. On the foundation of the former history-geography studies, the author, making the natural disasters and water resource a cut-in point, systematically brings forward the opinion that the reason for the economical decline in GuanZhong is because of the worsening of nature, which was caused by human activities. Thus this thesis is a study on history, and it can also be regarded as a good reference for the current exploiting the west.
