| Based on the distribution and classification charts of musical instruments ,the thesis analyzes the aspects of Zhou Dynasty抯 music and ceremonial musical culture which are symbolized by The Book of Songs,and aims to gain an object appreciation of Pre-Qin?s ceremonial musical culture. It is composed of three parts: The first part----The textual research of the musical instruments in The Book of Songs.This part rely on musical unearthed relics and historical documents ,such as Shuo Wen Jie Zi ,Er Ya and so on. It investigates the origin and development of these 29 musical instruments in The Book of Songs,aims to demonstrate that these 29 instruments have been fairly mature in the age of The Book of Songs. The second part----The musical instruments and the classification of music in The Book of Songs.This part systematically analyzes the existence forms of instruments in æŠeng?. æ§a?.. æong?---the three chapters of The Book of Songs. æŠeng?includes the folk songs of fifteen kingdoms. It mentions eight instruments ---.-Qin.. Se ~. Gu.~ Fou .. Yue Sheng~ Zhong.. Luan----in eight kingdoms separately. These eight kingdoms are distributed around He Nan province. This phenomenon has deep historical course. æ§a?is made up of the songs composed by the noble, which are used for banquets. The melody instruments in æ§a?give expression to the spirit of humanism in Zhou Dynasty. 4~Song?refers to the traditional dance accompanied by musical instruments æ¨hong Gu.. 2 Qing?etc.,which fully express the political intention of the rulers. The third part----The culture significance of the combination of musical instnirnents in The Book of Songs. This part mainly talks about the social cultural significance of combination of instruments. By analyzing the political background of Zhou Dynasty, it expounds the cultural and political significance reflected by music used for Wedding ... Feast .~ Agricultural Activities and Sacrifice. Musical instruments are the carrier of music and culture as well. The civilization represented by instruments in The Book of Songs is the origin of Chinese Ceremonial Musical Culture and it guides the tendency of the later development.
