The studies on it have been in existence for a long time and often have lots of excellent achievements. However, the studies concerning the relation of Yu Dafu's fictions with native culture, especially with Ming-Qing erotic fictions are at all-time low all the time. Papers relating to it are few and studies on it were in generalities. Based on the present situation, my thesis mainly makes a study of cultural connotation of Yu Dafu's fictions and the relation between them from cultural angle of view and from three sides such as the idea of value, the idea of gender and the idea of carnal desire. My thesis consists of three parts.Introduction: It demonstrates the necessity of the relation of between Yu Dafu's fictions and Ming-Qing erotic fictions. At first, as the direct result of foreign cultural influence Yu Dafu's fictions were able to be famous in the world, which shows that it was based on profound native cultural resource. Though Yu Dafu was influenced by the foreign culture he was after all a Chinese who was interested in native culture and had profound national cultural accomplishment so complicated national cultural psychology accumulated in him. At the same time, Yu Dafu was aware of this kind of relation. Secondly, we define meaning of "Eros" and specify the range of erotic fictions. "Eros" is different from both instinct and love. It is "the echo between sex and love" and the range of erotic fictions only is limited to fictions of the love between opposite sexes. The main body includes three chapters. The first chapter: the idea of value in Yu Dafu's fictions and Ming and Qing dynasty fictions. During May 4th age in the face of national crisis scholars of the past were convinced of the defect of Chinese ethic culture and violently criticized the tradition and then proceed to promote self to the core of cultural value. Yu Dafu's fictions deeply influenced by May 4th culture also established the self-led orientation of value and expressed self Eros which was regarded as the factor of humanism and its "self was not instinctual type self but was social type self. At the same time, there was strong personage atmosphere. The idea of value was born of Ming -Qing dynasty, Ming -Qing erotic fictions had began to stress "self and there was stronger personage atmosphere. But compared with Ming -Qing erotic fictions, on the one hand Yu Dafu's fictions broke through the shackles of the Confucian and self was promoted to the position of the core of cultural value On the other hand, Yu Dafu's fictions and Ming-Qing erotic fictions expressed different personage atmosphere. Personage atmosphere in Ming-Qingfictions was influenced by the humanism current while it mainly was as the tradition of man of letters. Personage atmosphere in Yu Dafu's fictions was used as the means of rebelling against the Confucian, which had added the meaning of turning over to think culture. The second chapter: the idea of gender in Yu Dafu's fictions and Ming-Qing erotic fictions. Yu Dafu's fictions adhered to the self-led orientation of value and also respect the personality of female self. It claimed the gender equality and yet radiated some traditional gender sense. This idea of gender originated in Ming-Qing dynasty. Ming-Qing erotic fictions had showed the respect to woman and sympathy for woman. But compared with Ming and Qing dynasty fictions, on the one hand Yu Dafu's fiction run the young shot of gender equality in Ming and Qing dynasty fictions to the level of self-conscious of logos. On the other hand, it inherited vestiges of "chastity" and "submissiveness" in Ming-Qing fictions yet "chastity" and "submissiveness" in Yu Dafu's fictions desalted and a good many new changes happened to it. "Chastity" and "submissiveness" in Ming and Qing fictions was based on the Confucian tradition in which "chastity" indicated that man monopolized the body and heart of woman and that "submissiveness" was namely that woman must obey the will o... | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Eros, erotic fiction, the idea of value, the idea of gender, the idea of carnal desire | | Related items |
