The Book of Songs is the earliest aggregation of poems in Chinese ancient times. Many water images appears in it. Water is the source of the world and becomes material goods that men live and produce. Men place their spiritual on water. The contents of water images in the Book of Songs are very rich. According to their type they can include three conditions: single water images, complex water images and artificial water images.Single water images hi the Book of Songs show kinds of state of water and place many feelings, ideas and thoughts on them. Men's soul world refracts clearly through water images. Complex water images are very complicated. The feelings that complex water images content are very rich. Sometimes they appear glad and sometimes grieved. Artificial water images show the complicated relations between water and men from kinds of sides. The feelings are just the same as the one that the complex water images content: glad or grieved.The Book of Songs uses literatury method when it shows the water images. So the water images of the Book of Songs are rather lively and vivid, filling vigour and become more beautiful and tipical than they are in lives. |
